چکیده
Cement-based materials decay with exposure to aggressive agents, a development that raises infrastructure operation and maintenance costs substantially. This paper analyses the inclusion of ultrafine construction demolition (UC&DW) biomass-fuelled power plant (BA) waste as pozzolanic additions cement in pursuit more sustainable eco-respectful binders assesses durability end when exposed seawater, chlorides (0.5 M NaCl) or sulphates (0.3 Na2SO4). The effect adding silica fume (SF) at replacement ratio 5% was also analysed. Durability determined using methodology proposed by Koch Steinegger, whilst microstructural changes were monitored mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP), X-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for fuller understanding processes. According findings, new blended cements containing 20%UC&DW + 10%BA 20%BA 5%SF resist attack media studied, 56-d corrosion index over 0.7. composition reaction products generated is essentially same OPC SCM-bearing materials. results show optimal SCM 30%.

EFFICIENCY FACTOR OF SUPPLEMENTARY CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS: A STATE OF ART
The use of supplementary cementing materials is gradually increasing due to technical, economical, and environmental benefits. Supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) are most commonly used in producing ready mixed concrete (RMC). A quantitative understanding of the efficiency of SCMs as a mineral admixture in concrete is essential for its effective utilisation. The performance and effective...
متن کاملUsing Different Methods of Nanofabrication as a New Way to Activate Supplementary Cementitious Materials; a Review
Reducing the consumption of cement with simultaneous utilizing waste materials as cement replacement is preferred for reasons of environmental protection. Blended cements consist of different supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), such as fly ash, silica fume, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS), natural pozzolans, etc. These materials should be chemically activated to show effec...
متن کاملDurability of Mortar Incorporating Ferronickel Slag Aggregate and Supplementary Cementitious Materials Subjected to Wet–Dry Cycles
This paper presents the strength and durability of cement mortars using 0–100% ferronickel slag (FNS) as replacement of natural sand and 30% fly ash or ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) as cement replacement. The maximum mortar compressive strength was achieved with 50% sand replacement by FNS. Durability was evaluated by the changes in compressive strength and mass of mortar specime...
متن کاملA novel durability design approach for new cementitious materials: Modelling chloride ingress in strain-hardening cement-based composites
To fully utilise the advantageous durability properties of new cementitious materials such as fibre-reinforced Strain-Hardening Cement-based Composites (SHCC), a performance-based durability design approach is required. For crack-free ordinary concrete first promising concepts exist, e.g. the DuraCrete model. However, the parameters of these models, which were quantified for ordinary concrete, ...
متن کاملBest Practices for Concrete Pavements / Supplementary Cementitious Materials Tech brief
Hydraulic activity refers to a property most familiar when discussing hydraulic cement such as ordinary portland cement (OPC). ASTM C125-15a defines hydraulic cement as “a cement that sets and hardens by chemical reaction with water and is capable of doing so under water.” That is, hydraulic cements, including SCMs that have hydraulic properties, react with water to harden, and that hardening p...
